Homemade Ovaltine muesli

June 21, 2016

To accompany this spirulina and chlorella nicecream, I made my own muesli. I love having muesli with fruit and yoghurt and decided that I should make my own because I eat so much of it. I hope you try it and love it as much as I do!

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 3 cups of oats

  • 1 cup of roughly chopped almonds

  • 1/2 cup of shredded coconut

  • 1/3 cup raisins

  • 1/2 cup ovaltine powder

  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries

  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed

  • 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon tumeric

  • 1/2 teaspoons star anise

  • 1/3 teaspoon caraway

  • In a pan, add the coconut oil and 1 cup of the oats (2 cups remainder), 2 tablespoons of flaxseed and sunflower seeds, almonds, raisins. Then add the tumeric, caraway and star anise. Let the ingredients simmer until you can smell the aromas.

  • Then lay out all the ingredients on a large baking tray/sheet and add the remainder of the ingredients (be sure to mix them altogether, so the flavour is spread out evenly).

  • Let the museli bake in the oven at 180 degrees celcius for 15-20 minutes, making sure to stir the mixture every 5 minutes.

  • When the time is up, sprinkle the ovaltine over the muesli to add that a chocolate flavour to the muesli.

Bon appetite!
