Whats your flavour?

What's your flavour ladies and gentlemen? I prefer smoothies over milkshakes any day!  The only reason I really prefer them though, is because I never feel guilty after having an entire smoothie all by myself, and I don't get the that bloated/full feeling after either. Milkshakes are a lot heavier, and understandably so- dairy ice-cream and full fat milk. If I had it my way, I would use Almond Milk instead but my family is not a fan of that. 

Im sure there are "Iftaar regulars" every year on your table. On our table it is always, milkshake (samoosas aside of course). I enjoy having the milkshake at Iftaar time because it spikes up my blood sugar (which gets very low after fasting all day), so I need it  more than crave it. Here's the recipe for the milkshake and the smoothie. The milkshake was for dinner and the smoothie I had post gym :)

 

Recipe: Strawberry and raspberry milkshake

 

Ingredients: 

  • 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream

  • 1 1/2 cups of milk

  • 2 tablespoons of strawberry syrup

  • A handful of raspberries (to add a sour twang if you like)

  • A dollop of rose water

Method:

Blend it altogether in a milkshake maker or a nutribullet and voilá, enjoy!

 

 Recipe: Medley of fruits smoothie

 

  • Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple

  • 1/2 frozen melon

  • 1/2 raspberries

  • 1/2 almond milk

  • 1 teaspoon protein powder (I use the "Whey Isolate" protein power)

  • And honey for sweetness (dependent on how sweet you want it)

 

Method:
