Chocolate Popsicles

June 8, 2018

Whether it's winter or not, I would eat these chocolate popsicles any time! Made with very natural and organic ingredients, there is absolutely no guilt to be had over here! I used my Nutribullet 600 series (600 Watt motor) to blend all the ingredients together, and after about 3 pulses, my mixture was smooth and ready to be set into the moulds. Whether I'm making a simple recipe like popsicles or smoothie bowls, or something more complicated like soups and stews, I need a blender that is reliable and does the job well, and having one break all the time is no good for someone who lives in the kitchen. This is such a live saver and luckily it is versatile enough to be used for almost any recipes that comes my way!

I really love this recipe because it is so simple and most nights I want to indulge in something sweet but not unhealthy and this popsicle is the perfect treat. Whether you have one or more, you won't think you've "had too much" because when ingredients are this healthy it seems like you're just feeding your body the goodness and nutrients it needs :)

Bon apetit!

Recipe: Chocolate Pops

Makes: 5 popsicles

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups Greek yoghurt

  • 1/3 cup chocolate, almond nut butter

  • 6 Medjool dates, pitted

  • 1/3 cup cacao powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

  • 1 tbsp. honey

  • 1/4 cup coconut milk

Method:

  • Prepare 4-5 popsicle moulds with a wooden flat base/handle.

  • Put all ingredients into your Nutribullet and blend until smooth.

  • Once all the ingredients have turned into a beautiful light brown chocolatey colour, fill the moulds to the top and then insert the wooden base/stick and freeze over night.

  • To remove the popsicle from the mould, run it under hot water.

  • Drizzle with dark chocolate and crushed cashews if you want a more luxurious taste.
