Vegan Chocolate Mousse

June 28, 2018

I finally came around and made a semi-winter dessert! Okay maybe not, because technically it's still a "chilled" dessert. Upside though-it's fully vegan and tastes ridiculously amazing! I'm not exaggerating at all, because I've made many vegan chocolate mousses before while working in London, and I definitely think that adding a banana and possibly the nut butter has made all the difference. I always thought that simply and cocoa and avocado could not be a good combination, so a change was made, and no regrets were incurred during the process- this is a flop free dessert!

The best part about this recipe is that I was able to put all of my ingredients into my Nutribullet 600 Series. This Nutribullet is much more powerful than the regular one, which is perfect for me because I needed something that was more heavy duty and industrial, that could break down and make smooth different kinds of desserts and smoothies. Being able to put everything into one machine and just let it blend for about 5 minutes, made the whole process quicker and is perfect for when you don't have the time to break down your recipe into five different parts.

I really love this recipe and I hope you do too! Please let me know what you think in the comments!

Bon apetit!

Recipe: Vegan Chocolate Mousse

Makes: 4 medium sized cup

1 large ripe avocado

1 banana

¼ cup rich, cocoa powder

¼ cup almond milk

1 tbsp. raw honey

1 tsp. vanilla paste

1 tbsp. almond nut butter

Method:

Peel and remove the pit form the avocado, and peel the banana.

Add all of the above ingredients to your Nutribullet and blend until all the ingredients have become smooth, and the mixture will look like a rich, dark mousse.

Scoop it into your desired glass (half way), top with coconut milk (whipped) and fresh berries and let chill in the fridge a minimum of one hour.

Serve chilled.
