Cheesy Asparagus Twisties

Hello Friends!


I hope you are all feeling good and staying safe. During this uncertain time, I decided to share as many Pantry Recipes as possible, so this means that I will be creating recipes that I think most of you would have in your cupboard on a normal day. There are some recipes where you may need ingredients that aren't in your pantry but hopefully you will be able to find them at your local store. I am pretty much in isolation, I felt that I wanted to do my part in being safe and keeping away from crowds, gyms, malls etc. Frankly, I think that is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and each other and to hopefully bring this pandemic to an end as soon as possible. 


On the pantry list today we have asparagus and cheese! I had this asparagus for the last week, and although it is not part of a low FODMAP diet, I thought that those of you who are able to eat them would love them. I did have a taste and they really are the perfect snack or side dish in a meal. They are super healthy and packed with a lot of natural vitamins that we all need right now.

 Recipe: Cheesy Asparagus Twisties

Type: Gluten-free




I pack of asparagus

1 cup cheddar cheese

1 cup Parmesan cheese

1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. crushed black pepper

1 tbsp. chilli flakes/paprika

1 tbsp. thyme

Olive oil

A few sprigs fresh thyme (optional)




Preheat oven to 200C.

Steam your asparagus and put aside to cool. 

Drizzle with some olive oil, and then sprinkle your herbs and toss. 

On a baking tray, lay out some baking paper and place your veg side by side.

Then put your cheeses across the middle of the asparagus. 

Top with fresh thyme if you have.

Place the tray in the oven for 10-15 minutes.

The cheese should be crispy and asparagus nice and soft inside.
